Amazing place! Clean and Sally was very helpful with everything. We would definitely recommend it to everyone. Sally made a breakfast there was so amazing. Eggs, veggies, bread, fresh juice/smoothie. And alot of fruits. Sally have been on Airbnb for long time - so don't consider that there is almost no reviews. Everything is just as expected and all pictures are up to date.

The apartment is very close to the Zanzibar ferry terminal, and that is the reason why we chose it. We only needed to take a short walk to the apartment. The location is great, and we could easily walk to or take a taxi to where we need to be. Breakfast is served across the road at the casino. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment was much more than what we expected; it was very clean and spacious. The views across the city are fantastic. All the amenities you would need incl. fully air-conditioned, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and microwave. Netflix and Wi-Fi worked great.

Henry, the manager, set a wonderful tone for my visit with his welcoming demeanour and attentiveness. His passion for ensuring guests have a memorable experience was evident, and it made a significant difference in my stay. Frank at the front desk was incredibly helpful and cheerful, providing assistance with a smile. He made the check-in process seamless and was always available to answer any questions I had, making me feel right at home. Esther in the restaurant was an absolute delight. Her friendly service and fantastic energy brightened up every meal. Not only was the food exceptional, but her genuine hospitality made dining there a highlight of my stay. Lastly, I can’t forget to mention Maneno, the hotel driver. His impeccable service and friendly conversations during my rides added an extra layer of comfort to my travels around the city. Overall, the team at Blackwood Hotel – from Henry and Frank to Esther and Maneno – truly exemplified what excellent customer service is all about. I look forward to returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant stay!

"Porini" means forest in Swahili. Human activity is almost absent here, instead wildlife greeted us. FORGET Zanzibar. The emerald Indian Ocean and sandy beach offered us peaceful walks along the shoreline, with only a few fishermen passing by. After spending a month in Tanzania, staying at Porini House was a true retreat, allowing us to escape from the hustle and bustle.

    I made breakfast myself, there were places next door for breakfast and the Village Supermarket below the apartments and Shopaz Plaza up the road making buying cornflakes, eggs, milk and other amenities very easy to come by.

    Pristine property with amazing proprietor! The architectural layout of units looks like a massai village with a contemporary coastal flare. The refreshing pool is open 24h. We had a plane delay that brought us in super late and Alinda made sure we still got dinner.

    You have the whole villa for yourself, its clean and has wifi. The person who welcomed us at the location was very kind and friendly, helped us with communicating with a bus company. He was also our driver and by far the best driver we had in Tanzania.

    If you're making a short trip to Dar Es Salaam and you need to be close to the airport, this place is perfect. Rooms are small but clean, and it has everything you need (including air conditioning and plenty of drinking water) at a great price. Be sure to book your airport pickup through the Villa management, because the villa is extremely difficult to find, and regular taxi drivers would have difficulty. (Even the driver sent by the villa made a wrong turn trying to find it!)
