We had the most delightful overnight stay onboard Thara’s Houseboat. It is beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The food prepared and served by Sargee, who is passionate about his craft, was delectable and the two boatmen, Raju and Jaypal quiet and competent. Our hosts, David & Ambly, who took care of the administration, were very friendly. Not only was Sargee our cook but he also took us on a lovely late afternoon walk along one of the smaller canals describing the plants and their medicinal or culinary benefits something for which he is also passionate. Overall it was a wonderful trip and one we are so glad we didn’t miss.

We met our crew on arrival (captain, two chefs and service provider), all of who were lovely. The boat itself was only 5 days old and very luxurious, from the dining room, to the bathrooms and bedrooms. What truly makes this boat special though, and sets it apart from other house boats, is the unique top deck. The top deck had comfy furniture and areas to sit in the sun or in the shade. The design allows the airflow to keep you cool as the boat sailed. We opted for 3 days, 2 nights and were glad we did so. This allowed us to sail down quieter backwaters on the second day and to see local life as we went past (most house boats that do just one night take the same busy route). The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful, much of it Keralan cuisine. You won't regret booking with Why Not, we considered it excellent value and a truly special experience. We can wholeheartedly recommend.

Xandari Riverscapes هو أسطول من قوارب المنزل التي تبحر على طول بحيرة Vembanad وفي المناطق النائية في Alleppey. ترسو المنازل العائمة بالقرب من جسر Pallathuruthy. Amazing and a very unique experience. Especially living in the backwaters and getting the feel of Alleppey with mesmerising views was worth it.

MAHARANI - Beautiful traditional style boat in a peaceful location with local life to view whilst cruising. The ‘Captain’ Manoj and his assistant Geethu together with our chef and Adie who waited on us all day were amazing. We got off the boat and purchased tiger prawns and calamari from the locals en route and our chef cooked these to perfection together with a total ‘banquet’ of delicious local dishes. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Pure decadence and excellent value. Lastly a huge thank you to Alush M (Front office manager) who organised us from instructions to finding the resort to offering us all the services the resort has to offer and ensuring our stay was perfect. Highly recommend this trip!

يطفو منزل (Aqua Castle ( by Aqua Jumbo العائم على المياه الراكدة من أليبي وفيمباناد، ويحتوي على مكتب استقبال يعمل على مدار الساعة لمساعدة الضيوف. The staff were so welcoming right from the start. They helped us with our luggage and helped us settle in with a refreshing lemon juice After that we were treated to a delicious south indian lunch and one of the best fish fry we ever had. We drove around the lake and just relaxed with chilled beer and good music We stopped at a fish market and got prawns and crab and the crew cooked them up for us in addition to their dinner meal
