Everything was exceptional. Incredibly historic manor house set in beautiful gardens (loved the walnut tree dropping its nuts everywhere!) Graciously-furnished and comfortable rooms. Ample breakfast served in a relaxed manner; The most courteous of hosts. What a find! Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in the St Malo area in future.

AMAZING! The owners were so friendly with us and swapped our rooms to the ground floor one because of our baby :) we had lovely chats with them both and the most comfortable night stay. We stayed here as it was perfect for getting the early ferry the next day (which was subsequently cancelled). But, this meant we could enjoy breakfast, which did not disappoint. Everything is sourced locally and the croissants and breads are same day fresh from the local bakery! We will be staying again! Thanks so much for giving us a comfortable and enjoyable stay :) see you in September!

Beautiful gated hotel with secure parking on the property. Rooms are tastefully decorated and influenced by owners travels. Lovely linens and toiletries and very comfortable. Restaurants are close by. Breakfast was very nice with lovely produce used. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend and will definitely stay here again.

The room was large and the bed very comfortable. Excellent en suite bath and shower. Safe parking for the motorcycle, plenty space for cars as well. We were allowed to check in well before 5 after phoning la patronne.

The hostess, Patricia, was very warm and welcoming. She is a history buff and a font of knowledge about local history. In addition, she had terrific suggestions as to what to do in Saint-Malo to make the most of our very short time there. Her insights were bang on, and we had the best time ever discovering the beauty of Saint Malo. The property at Domaine de la Bastille is huge, and the house was decorated with an eclectic mix of treasures from days gone by. We called our night here "Night at the Museum" because everywhere we set our eyes, there was something incredible to behold. We slept in comfy beds made up beautifully, and woke up to the sound of song birds singing in the woods on the property. How delightful! Staying at Domaine de la Bastille was an unforgettable experience for us all. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family to visit Saint-Malo, and to stay at Domaine de la Bastille.

    Charming conversion of a small outbuilding, facing an attractive courtyard. Friendly and helpful host, full of great local tips. Our delicious “first day” breakfast kept us going for days. The location was also great, on a quiet residential street but within a short walk of local beaches and bars / restaurants, and a longer but still pleasant 30 minute walk to the city centre.
