Wow, this accommodation blew us away! Pierre and Manon who are running this property with a lot of LOVE are incredible people worthy of admiration! They bought a house with a good amount of land around it and have constructed several cabins, a yoga deck, a restaurant and a boat house over the last few years. Ataraxia has its own pier, so boatmen will easily take you there from Isla Colon. At the back of the property, there is a nature reserve, a jungle with so many treasures! We were able to spot the red frogs, caimans, a racoon, yellowtail birds, giant turquoise butterflies, turtles, giant ants, we rented a free kayak and paddled through the mangroves nearby, and we walked on several occasions to Old Bank, the main village on Isla Bastimentos, and once to Wizzard Beach. Manon also booked us a trip to Zapatilla (including sloth, dolphin and starfish spotting and snorkeling) and Pierre arranged our transportation to the airport. Several ideas for activities in the area conveniently presented in a booklet in the room (Zapatilla trip, Wizzard Beach hike, Red Frog & Polo Beach, bio-luminescence tour, etc.). Free kayaks and snorkeling gear available. If you are into botany and medicinal plants, you will have a lot to talk about with Pierre who planted so many of them around the property. Running a guesthouse in the middle of the jungle is a hard task, yet the couple somehow manage it and always keep smiling and interacting with guests at all times. Thank you very much, we will never forget our stay with you! You are a true inspiration! Be aware that: there is no hot water or AC and you cannot use a hairdrier, as the place runs on solar energy. There is wifi. Rooms are cleaned daily and are very spacious. Cold drinks available in the common fridge and option to have dinner. Tasty and creative breakfast included.

Staying at Carmen’s was an absolute highlight of our trip! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends into her home. The place is beautifully maintained, with comfortable rooms, a lovely dock, and a lush garden perfect for relaxing. The facilities are excellent, but what truly makes this place special is the warmth and hospitality of Carmen and Marcel. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, always with such kindness and care. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and abundant—a perfect way to start the day. And in the evening, Carmen’s home-cooked dinners were a treat—she prepares the freshest fish of the day, and all the guests gather around the table to share a meal and great conversation. Carmen was incredibly helpful with everything, from tending to a blister on my foot to organizing day trips. This stay was more than just accommodation—it was a truly memorable experience. I can’t recommend it enough!

Pure Roots se encuentra en Bastimentos y ofrece vistas al mar y wifi gratis a 11 min a pie de Playa de Carenero Noreste y a 2,3 km de Playa de Carenero. We had a wonderful time at this place. You are surrounded by jungle. The huts are very cozy and they have everything you need. Jen is the host of this accommodation and she lovingly takes care of her guests. There is a delicious breakfast and she helps you organize any activities you want to do. We will remember this accommodation for a long time.

El Hilltop Eco-Lodge with Views & Pool es un bed and breakfast recientemente reformado situado en Bastimentos, donde los huéspedes pueden aprovechar al máximo su piscina con... El Lodge de Punta Rica es el paraíso. Tienes la experiencia de un hotel de 5 estrellas con la familiaridad de una casa de huéspedes. La estética está muy cuidada, el lugar es precioso. Daniel y Brian son excelentes anfitriones, siempre atentos a tus necesidades. Cada noche cocinaron una cena deliciosa (se cena todos juntos en familia, lo cual, para mí, que viajaba sola, fue una maravilla, aunque si prefieres cenar separado también podrías) y el domingo (Sunday Funday) fuimos juntos a cenar a Bocas.

We really enjoyed our stay at Eclypse de Mar. The bungalow was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful. We loved the direct access to the water and used the complimentary kayaks and paddleboards it was a great way to explore the surroundings.

El alojamiento, construido en 2008, está a 2,6 km de Playa de Carenero.... Luis and his family were so hospitable, the food he cooked us was delicious! The place itself is so tranquil looking over the water. We loved staying here and wish we could’ve stayed longer, it was very chilled and simplistic island life.
