JamboHouse Lamu is set in Lamu, 300 metres from Gallery Baraka, 500 metres from Lamu Museum, and 500 metres from 18th Century Swahili House Museum. I liked that the house was right in the middle of community houses, which made me feel more connected to the old town. The breakfast that Arnold made was amazing and I really liked the vibe of the place. There were plenty of dining places nearby and all of the host's recommendation was 10 on 10.

Situated within 500 metres of Shela Beach and 200 metres of Mnarani House in Lamu, Jua House provides accommodation with seating area. The bed and breakfast features city views and a sun terrace. Had an amazing stay - place is beautiful but it was Amani and the staff (including the amazing cooked brekfast) who helped us get around and made the trip worth it!!

Located 500 metres from Shela Beach and 200 metres from Mnarani House, Shiban House features accommodation in Shela. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The staff, in particular Joseph, was extremely nice and kind, very attentive to us and every need we had. He helped us to find a very cheap and good captain and recommended us some good restaurants. He helped us to come back home when it was dark and he made us feel very safe in every moment. apart from his work here he’s a wonderful person! The house is in a good position, it has very clean rooms and beautiful views in the rooftop! Little tip: try the delicious breakfast made by Joseph, who’s also a great chef!

Away from the HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF LAMU. There is a great restaurant next door With delicious food and you can always pop over to Sheila (5 min boat ride) for some activity if you feel too quiet on the island 🏝️ 👍

Featuring a swimming pool and tropical gardens, Kijani Hotel is situated on the coast of Lamu Island, along the Indian Ocean. The décor comes with natural handmade furniture, lanterns and ornaments. Location right on the water, Swahili decor, great staff and wonderful food. I have come here 5+ times! And I will be back!

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. Great historical building with an amazing Swahili architecture. We came back to Lamu after two years and even though we browsed a little bit, there was no other place that we rather wanted to stay at. Perfectly located behind the Fort, right behind the main square, Subira is easy to find, offers the greatest views and privacy. Everyone working there made our stay a true pleasure. Absolutely loved it, also this time. Some part of the downstairs area is now a café for the public which invited people during the day – really nice touch that makes it more lively.

Umma House has a terrace and is situated in Lamu, within just 400 metres of Lamu Museum and 500 metres of Lamu Fort. Guests staying at this villa have access to a balcony. The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Offering sea views, Furaha House is an accommodation located in Shela, 200 metres from Shela Beach and 400 metres from Mnarani House. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. Nyama took very good care of us. Breakfast was wonderful!
