The hosts are next level hospitable and communicated with me ahead of time and throughout our stay via Booking.com. We were picked up from the JR train station, and they made us reservation for that evening at a small kaiseki spot and drove us to dinner and asked the chef call us a taxi when we were finished. 6 seats, the chef and the server. It was probably our most memorable meal of the trip. The room is very comfortable and spacious. The hosts prepare you a delicious Japanese style breakfast each morning. The bathroom and bathtub is like having your own private onsen with a spectacular view.

Situated within 22 km of Goryokaku Park and 23 km of Hakodate Goryokaku, ゲストハウス風の丘 features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Tōbetsu. This was the best place we stayed at for our trip covering the Hakodate to Sapporo area. The view from our room was absolutly perfect. (see photo) The owners and the staff Kitamura-san are very friendly and helpful. Staying at this place was defintly the highlight of our trip. I'd defintly stay here again if I ever travel to the Hakodate area. Guests who don't speak Japanese should have a translator app ready before getting there, so everyone can communicate smoother.
