Everything! It was easy to get to from Auckland with good instructions & Susie was there to greet us & show us around. The view is stunning. We loved the space we had & the complete privacy & quiet. The bed was comfortable with beautiful bed linen & soft towels with beach towels too. We’ve been travelling for a month so the chance to relax & prepare a simple meal was welcome although we could walk down to Tutukaka for meals & a flat white to watch the world go by. Susie made delicious margaritas by the refreshing pool - thank you - our stay was idyllic.

What an awesome place, amazing view from the top of the hill. Loved the outside shower, feels like standing in the rain in a jungle. Grant is such a cool guy. Definitely recommend. Never had that sort of view from a toilet.so beautiful place.

Great and welcoming host. Her house was extremely nice and clean, so clean that you could potentially hurt yourself on the sliding windows (but this won't happen, she did put stuff to prevent it). Nice private access to the beach (even though you need to walk a lot in order to have decent water depth.

This place is a secret hidden gem. You are in the heart of Whangarei for one. Across the water is everything. Fast food. Supermarket. Restaurants. Bars. It’s all within walking distance. Being late we drove, and again, it’s minutes away. This place has character and charm. It’s the place you dream of retiring in. Passing through whangarei, we only stayed the night and this location was more a novelty choice by my fishing enthused husband. We loved it. If you need spotless, white, and sterile, go somewhere else. This place is normal. Natural. Comfortable. The cupboards have most needs met. Cutlery, plates, glasses. Hairdryer. Iron. There’s spare towels. Fan if you need cold and an oil fin heater if you need warm. There’s a dining table outside the bedroom. And one in it. There’s a functional kitchenette, with tea, coffee, etc. Take your own milk if you take milk. I would highly recommend this place as a bucket list tick. It’s unique.
