With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site. The owners were very helpful, friendly and communicated well. Very clean, fabulous view, quiet.

Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. Great place to base oneself before & after Rakiura Track tramp. Rooms are clean as are the bathrooms, lots of towels available at the showers. Food was delicious especially the local Blue Cod. Would stay there again.

Church Hill might be the most wonderful place we’ve ever stayed. The location, the hosts, the accommodation, and the food were all amazing. Exquisite attention to detail!

They picked us up from the ferry and had a courtesy car we could hire during our stay which was invaluable. Cabins are fairly close to each other but private enough we could enjoy our stay. Had washer and dryer available if needed.

No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.
