Car/scooter rental is mandatory in my opinion to explore the island, Sandy bottom cottages have good and clean cars with reasonable prices. I highly recommand this place and for sure will come back again

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, Peace and Play is located in Hermitage. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The villa is spacious, beautiful, and centrally located—perfect for exploring the area. While the final stretch of road is rough, with large potholes (a Jeep might help), we managed without one. The kitchen is well stocked, and we appreciated the supply of clean towels, beach towels, and two portable beach chairs. Even a cooler, snorkeling gear, and fins were provided. The hosts were incredibly helpful, offering great local recommendations and even arranging a birthday cake for us from a local baker. We felt very much at home. The nearby pool is clean and inviting, with plenty of lounge chairs, beach chairs, and shaded areas for relaxing. Internet troubles were quickly solved with a mobile solution, which worked well enough for our needs, even if it was a bit slow. For leisure travel, a 100% recommendation!

That was amazing: they met me at the airport, helped me to withdraw money on Sunday, fond the open store this day, at the last day took me to the Stocking island and back for free. Turtles Nest Bahamas is set in Hermitage. The property has sea and garden views, and is 700 metres from Turtle Beach. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle... Perfect accommodation for our week on Exuma. Our host Mark provided lots of recommendations of things to do and where to go. He also checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. You definitely need a car to get around the island, and I found the beach a bit too far for walking when it was hot. A very relaxing week.

On your taxi ride in, get them to stop at a local store to grab snacks and such, it will save you a trip… because you really don’t want to leave.
