Wow if you are looking for a luxury Japanese experience, this is it!! Our stay was exceptional from the get go. The traditional welcome was set in an beautiful historic house set apart from the hotel which was rather a surprise for us as we thought we had been taken to the wrong place. We were given champagne and oyaki cakes while the host explained our stay. Then a short walk (or they can shuttle you) up through the beautiful streets of Asama Onsen. The hotel itself is next level! Beds were so comfortable, snacks and cold drinks available 24/7, and the onsen on the deck was just divine. The bookshop/library is absolutely incredible. The breakfast and dinner is included -Not that we didn't like it as was a great experience and fabulously done on an open fire in restaurant - the food is very traditional so come with open mind and give it a go!! Hotel is situated outside of main central city so you do need to taxi to places which didn't bother us as was so worth it. Highly recommend. Was such a highlight of our trip.

This hotel was one of the best we stayed at during our trip to Japan! The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. There was a coffee machine, tea, and water in the room—it was great to have something hot to drink after a long day of walking. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept really well. We were also very happy with the breakfast—it had a great variety of food. We highly recommend this hotel!
