We have been there now a couple of times. For me, it's the best beach town for a weekend trip from Santiago; it's simply nicer and cleaner than other towns in the area (although also more pricey).

Lovely town with nice beach.
Lovely town with nice beach. The walking trail along the rocky coastline is incredible. There are limited but good dining options, mostly a bit on the expensive side. Streets are narrow, but drivers are cautious and courteous.

Lovely town with great beach and lovely park.
Lovely town with great beach and lovely park. Beautiful traffic free walks all along the coast. Nice restaurants but close at 6 p.m. in off season during the week only open late at night at the weekends. People extremely friendly. If you are looking to get away from it all and relax it is the place to go.
Hotel Casa Zapallar is a very warm and welcoming hotel. A lovely ambience greets you, with a warm fireplace, stylish furniture and well equipped and spacious comfortable bedrooms. The main ingredient though that makes it so very special, are the team at the hotel. Tomaz the manager, simply can't do enough to help you. He knows everyone around the area and works to make your stay unique. Also Javier the chef is extremely talented. He provided the most amazing dinner, from all locally sourced produce.
Carla´s flat is very spacious, very nicely decorated and with stunning views to the Pacific coast. The terrace is almost as big as the flat and has many different areas to relax or to have a nice breakfast or dinner. The sunsets are breathtaking. The communication was excellent and the place is very quiet. We usually woke up to the sound of the waves. A perfect get away location perfectly located between Zapallar and Cachagua. Highly recommended. Looking forward to being back.
Worst time ever. Dirty bathrooms, overused towels, no heater.
We had to sleep on our clothes in a shivering cold.
All we got from the manager was a: "sorry, it's hard to find good staff in this times after COVID-19".
Don't even think to eat the unfrozed food they serve in their restaurant.
Luckyly we found a really nice place nearby - "Casa Wilson" 100% recommended.
Worst anyversary night, ever. And we had to pay anyway.
Casa Zapallar really fits the vibe of this town (which if you're from California is like a cross between Carmel and Laguna Beach). It is elegant not fancy and while not on the oceanfront you will not mind the walk to the beach. Dinner was especially memorable, their staff & chef are personable & world-class making sure you enjoy! which I most certainly did, thank you for a lovely overnight.
Zapallar is a beautiful place, and Carla's loft is the ideal place to enjoy it. It's spacious, comfortable, and boasts spectacular views. Quiet at night for a good night's rest. It exceeded our expectations on all levels. Carla was very responsive, and Carlos greeted us warmly and provided useful local information. Highly recommended.
Amazing location, the gentleman named Jairo was very helpful. You need to know that he lives on site and there's no front desk per se, so please do your best to give or update an accurate check in time or he's waiting. It will help you to speak some Spanish.
The nature park/ hill right behind the hotel is fantastic.
The cabaña was delightfully fitted out, e.g. with lovely house plants and was very comfortable. It was set in beautiful countryside about 10-20 mins drive from the towns (and beaches) of Maitencio, Cachagua and Zapallar. At the time of my visit, the wildflowers, plants and birds around the cabaña were superb.
Hotel Casa Zapallar is beautifully appointed. The rooms are confortable and as it’s walking distance to the beach you can safely leave your car on the street across from the hotel. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating, eager to comply with every request. Breakfasts are delicious!
Casa Wilson is an old house next to the beach in Zapallar. The location is perfect. we really felt guests of the family that owns and lives in the house. The owner himself served breakfast and told us the story about the house.
A good restaurant is only 50 meters away.
What a beautiful location! On the coast with great sea views. Nice garden. Friendly hotel run by a lovely family. Cozy and delicious breakfast at a large table with several guests. The entire hotel has been lovingly decorated
The location of this beautiful hotel is simply spectacular and a very important historic house the owner was beyond kind. We will never forget this experience. Great bathroom great bedding excellent outdoor spaces to enjoy
The hotel building is small but fabulous. Great, friendly service. Room was beautiful with a huge bed. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel too. Coffee, fruit and water available at all times.
Amazing place, so much thought and care went into building this modern and artistic loft. I’m really glad we booked this rental for our trip to Zapallar, we would love to return.
Very nice hotel in a beautiful place. We really enjoyed our stay over Christmas. The hotel is in a walking distance to the beach, has a great pool and looks great in general.
Zapallar is beautiful and this is a small boutique hotel, within walking distance of everything, nicely decorated and with very friendly and helpful staff.
The friendliness of staff, clean rooms, and the aesthetic of the hotel. There was dinner in house that was excellent and always coffee and tea available.
